Frequently Asked Questions

1.) What is coaching?

One of the unique elements of Awake Consulting & Coaching, making it different from other firms, is that we deliver the coaching on your time, while you remain at your location. We don’t remove you from your business and force you to attend out of state conferences or multi-day workshops. Instead, we give advice and strategic recommendations at multiple intervals each month, focusing on unique situations you’re dealing with right now.

2.) Why should I have a coach?

Why does Tiger Woods have a coach? All of us need the external aspect to see what we can’t see. Awake Coaches are trained to listen and recommend small adjustments that result in large improvements to the functionality and profit of your business. We provide the strategic advice you need for enhanced business results.

3.) What is the difference between Awake Coaching and Life Coaching?

With Awake Coaching our focus is clearly on your business. We have developed a program to strengthen the leadership structure of your company and get you on track to the highest levels of success. We enable you to run your business with seamless efficiency so that you have more free time for your family, health, and community.

4.) What should I expect after signing up?

After signing up, we will send you a kit for a series of tests. These tests include personality profiles, leadership preferences, and a sampling of diagnostics designed to understand you and how you relate to the world around you. This testing also helps us to match you with a coach whose expertise is in your field. Your coach will then phone you for an initial consultation about your business. We will also send you our complete eight volume tool kit filled with valuable tips and useful training on business leadership.

5.) What does coaching cost?

The cost for coaching varies based on a number of things including: the number of coaching sessions you have each month, number of leaders in your company signed up in our program, and the level of assistance you need at a given time. In general, business coaching is an industry that delivers the strategic advice needed to run a business, just as an accountant or lawyer would deliver financial and legal advice. The rates for a business coach are similar to the rates of other professional services for business leaders.

6.) What happens in a typical coaching session?

A typical coaching session involves a discussion of the different issues you are encountering in your business right now, your future goals, and an analysis of the best way to implement those plans. A successful coaching relationship requires trust, honesty, support and challenge. Expect your coach to listen to the issues you are facing, deliver high quality feedback, and challenge any entrenched thinking patterns you may have that is keeping your from your goals.

7.) What is a typical session length?

Typical coaching sessions last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

8.) Are your conferences and programs accredited by anyone?

At Awake we work with a number of different professional groups including attorneys, accountants, insurance executives, and utilities management.  We are not a school, but our course work can be sent in for continuing education credits from your local state agencies. For example, we have had many attorneys submit our conference syllabi and their accompanying work for CLE credits. Likewise our accountant clients have our program for continuing education credits.
